A meaningful program titled “In the 1500th Year of His Birth: The Mercy to the Worlds, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)” was held at the Türkiye Maarif Foundation Somali Schools, Banadir Campus. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Raşit Gündoğdu, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Health Sciences Somali-Mogadishu Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Faculty of Health Sciences, and Mr. Ömer Faruk Arslan, Religious Services Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Mogadishu.

The program began with an opening speech and welcoming remarks by Mr. Osman Uysal, the school principal, who also introduced the distinguished guests. Following that, Prof. Dr. Raşit Gündoğdu delivered an inspiring talk on the blessed family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his birth, which illuminated the entire universe.
Prof. Dr. Gündoğdu vividly described the spiritual experiences of Hz. Âmina, the Prophet’s mother, and shared reflections on the Prophet’s childhood, transporting students to the serene atmosphere of the Age of Happiness (Asr al-Sa‘adah). He emphasized that the Prophet’s birth was not merely a historical event but a divine turning point — a revival that led humanity from darkness into light.

The program continued with a heartfelt address by Mr. Ömer Faruk Arslan, who spoke about the noble character and exemplary personality of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Drawing from hadiths, the lives of the Companions, and inspirational stories, he reminded the audience that every action of the Prophet was mercy, every word was wisdom, and every step reflected justice and compassion.
In his remarks directed especially to the youth, Mr. Arslan highlighted the Prophet’s virtues of humility, patience, honesty, and forgiveness, underlining their enduring importance in the life of every Muslim today.

The students listened with deep attention and affection, engaging with the speakers through questions that reflected both curiosity and reverence for the spiritual atmosphere of the gathering.

At the conclusion of the event, Principal Osman Uysal expressed gratitude to the guests and presented them with gifts of appreciation. The program ended with a group photo session, joined by teachers and students.

Through this meaningful gathering, students had the opportunity to learn from the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), enriching both their knowledge and their hearts. The participants once again reflected on the profound truth: “To be truly moral is to embody the character of the Prophet himself.”
