Students of the International Maarif Schools of Somalia, Cabdullaahi Cali Axmed and Mustafa Maxamed Xaaji Nuur, participated in the 5th International Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Model OIC) High School Summit held in Istanbul, accompanied by the school’s deputy principal, Muhammed Abdi. They proudly represented our school and the Federal Republic of Somalia on an international platform. The summit, organized between 28 November and 1 December by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), Beyoğlu Anadolu Imam Hatip High School, and the Beyoğlu Education and Culture Foundation, was held this year under the theme “Justice for Palestine: Resistance Against Oppression.” The program brought together high school students, academics, and public representatives from various countries across the Islamic world, creating a wide sphere of impact.Throughout the summit, our students took part in committee sessions addressing     -the Palestinian issue,     -the reconstruction of Syria,     -cooperation in the defense industry,     -climate change policies. They actively engaged in these sessions and contributed to the preparation of joint declarations alongside delegates from other countries. Our students’ academic expression, representation skills, and diplomatic maturity during the committee work drew significant attention. They also played a role in the development of the “Istanbul Declaration.”During the program, our students took part in visits to Istanbul’s historical and cultural sites and had the opportunity to interact with peers from different countries.Their participation in this distinguished program once again demonstrated that the International Maarif Schools of Somalia offer students a comprehensive learning environment that provides not only academic education but also opportunities for development in international representation, diplomacy, leadership, and cultural awareness. The guidance, academic support, and access to international programs provided by our school contribute significantly to equipping our students with the competencies needed to assume responsibilities on a global scale. We extend our gratitude to our entire educational staff for their efforts and to our students for representing our school with excellence. We wish them continued success in their work, with the same dedication and determination.
